일반 데이터 시디 말고 애플의 프로텍션이 걸린 시디 굽는 방법입니다.
방법은 토스트로 바로 구우면 안되고 디스크 카피로 이미지 파일을 만든 후 그 이미지 파일을 디스크 카피를 이용해 마스터 시디로 변환 후 확장자의 dmg를 없애고 cdr만 남긴 후 토스트로 구워야 제대로 구워집니다.
언제적 버전인진 확실치 않지만 부팅시디나 파이널 컷류의 시디 구울때 요긴하게
쓰일것 같습니다.

TOAST & APPLE WARNING!!!!!
Apple has a new copy protection scheme for their CDs.It incorporates an invisible ID file that acts to validate the CD to the installer when installing the software and when updating to newer versions.
TOAST WARNING!
You cannot use Toast to make a useable copy of an Apple protected CD!
If you use Toast to make the image file it will be useless!
THE GREAT TOAST PROBLEM
Toast sees these invisible files as PC files and does not copy them correctly. It will see them and copy them if you make a hybrid Mac/PC image, but when you burn the hybrid CD it won't work correctly because it presents the ID files as being PC files and disconnects them from the Mac part of the CD.

However All is not lost.

The only way I have found to make Toast burn
an Apple protected CD is to do the following:

1. Using Disk Copy make a disk image file of the original protected CD. (Disk Copy will see invisible files and include them in the image.) You end up with a .dmg file.
But if you try to burn the .dmg file it still won't come out correct because the .dmg file will be treated the same by Toast as a CD would and the invisible files won't be burned correctly. A big waste of CDs and time.
And you can't burn a .dmg file using DiskCopy for the same reason!
There is an additional step that needs to be taken before an Apple protected CD can be burned by Toast correctly.
2. You must convert the .dmg image file to a .cdr image fileusing DiskCopy.
Here is how you do that:
A. open disk copy.
B. Select "Convert Image" from the file menu.
C. using the open dialogue box navigate to the .dmg file and select it You get a save dialogue box.
D. In the save dialogue box name the new file.
E. At the bottom of the save dialogue box select DVD/CD master on the Image Format popup menu.
F. Save the new image.

DiskCopy pain in the butt warning.

What you get when you convert a .dmg image is a file with two file designations in a row.
A file that has both .dmg.cdr at the end of the name.
Example: MYFILE.dmg becomes MYFILE.dmg.cdr
After being converted.
It's a good file, but if you try to burn it you will get an error every time and waste CDs. You need to change the file designation to one that will work to burn the CD. To do that simply go to the file select the name and delete the .dmg from the name.
You end up with: MY FILE.cdr

It's that simple. You can now use Toast to burn a useable CD, enter the serial, and use the software. You can also use the CD for upgrading.

DiskCopy handles .dmg and .cdr files differently. Apple in all it's wisdom decided that it would separate image files into two catagories.
The first is an image file that acts in all ways like a hard drive, the .dmg file. The other type of image file is one that can be used for the mastering of DVDs and CDs, the .cdr file type.
Apple also neglected to tell anyone that they were doing this split of function. Probably because they wanted to use the difference to protect their products. However since DiskCopy is a major authoring tool for Apple as well as other software manufacturers they couldn't leave out the mastering function all together.Now that you know how hopefully this will get around and we'll stop seeing toast images of Apple protected CDs.

OS X의 경우 그냥 구우면 부팅은 되지만 시스템이 설치되지 않습니다. 시스템 시디 굽기를 이 방법으로 해서 성공했습니다. 다행히 시디 한장만 굽고 이 방법을 알게 되어 한장만 날렸습니다. ^^

9.2.x 의 경우는 기존 방법으로 구워도 무방합니다. 토스트에서 부팅 기능을 선택하고 구우면 잘 됩니다.

윈도우즈에서 시디대 시디 혹은 시디 이미지를 만드는 경우 클론시디가 가장 잘되는걸로 알고 있습니다.

파이널컷 프로 3의 토스트 이미지 파일을 구워서 설치하면 설치가 되지 않는 것이 토스트 5.2로 구워서 했더니 설치가 잘 되더라 하는 얘기를 들은적이 있습니다만, 진위를 확인할수 없고 실험해 보지도 않았습니다. 토스트 이미지 파일을 마운트해서 설치가 잘 되니 어차피 성공해도 시디만 한장 버리는 결과이니 실험할 필요성을 못느꼈습니다. 또한 그 토스트 이미지가 토스트 5.2 이상에서 만들어진 것인지 아니면 토스트 5.2 미만 버전에서 만들어진 것인지도 확인되지 않았습니다. 토스트 5.2 미만에서 만들어진 것을 토스트 5.2 이상에서 구웠더니 잘 된다면 5.2 이전 버전으로도 히든 파일까지 이미지로 만들어지지만 구울때 첨가가 안되었던 것이고 만약 그 이미지 파일을 5.2에서 만들어서 5.2에서 구워서 설치가 제대로 된다면 히든 파일을 인식 및 굽기까지 지원하는 것이겠지요. 또한 그것이 파이널 컷 프로와 토스트에서만 관계가 있는지 아니면 다른 애플 프로텍션이 걸린 시디 및 DVD마스터 시디나 기타 히든파일 포함 시디에도 적용되는지는 확인하지 못하였습니다. 다만 제가 확인한 것은 OS X 서버의 dmg파일을 그냥 시디로 구웠을때 부팅은 되지만 설치가 안되던 것이 이 방법으로 했더니 부팅 및 설치가 제대로 된다는 사실입니다. 만약 그 이미지 파일이 토스트 5.2 이상으로 만들어진 파일이였다고 가정할때 토스트 5.2 이상으로 구웠었더라면 제대로 작동했을 수도 있을겁니다. 안될수도 있구요. 하지만 예전에 토스트 5.2가 나오기 전 재규어의 토스트 이미지 파일을 토스트로 구웠더니 부팅 및 설치가 잘 되었습니다. 재구어 서버에는 또다른 프로텍션이 걸려 있을수도 있습니다. 아무튼 제가 그 많은 경우의 수를 다 실험해 볼수도 없기 때문에 다 말씀드릴 수는 없지만 이 방법으로 하는 것이 안전할것 같습니다. 토스트가 프로텍션 파일이나 기타 히든 파일들까지 이미지로 만들어서 구워도 이상없이 작동이 된다면 더할나위 없이 좋고 이런 수고스런 작업을 할 필요도 없겠지만 그것이 되는지 안되는지 모르는 상황에서 위험(?)을 감수할 필요는 없을겁니다. 누군가가 실험을 해보고 된다는 정보가 입수되면 바로 토스트로 구우면 되고. 아니면 누군가가 실험을 해보고 정보를 알려주는 방법도 있습니다..
